ACCESSIBILITY

The Car Park has two dedicated disabled parking spaces.
The Building has a very shallow ramp which allows access for wheelchairs, motorised scooters and prams/pushchairs.
The front doors are power assisted and in due course will be automatic. Please ask the staff for assistance if you need help getting into the building.
The building is all on one level.
The toilets in the building are available for the public to use when the library is open to the public. You do not need to ask permission to use them.
We now have an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.
Burley Library also participates in the Refill scheme. Refill is an award-winning campaign to prevent plastic pollution at source by making it easier to reuse and refill your water bottle on the go than buy a single-use disposable plastic bottle. The campaign works by connecting people who are looking for water with thousands of local business, transport hubs and public spaces where they can refill for free via a location-based app. Anyone can download the free app to find Refill Stations near them. Participating cafes, bars, restaurants, banks, galleries, museums and other businesses simply sign up to the app and put a sticker in their window – alerting passers-by that they’re welcome to come on in and fill up their bottle. At Burley Library please ask the volunteers and they will either refill your container or show you to the kitchen where you can refill your container yourself.
